All profits from this sale will go to the AmberSide Trust (registered charity number: 1160760) to help fund Side’s ongoing community work, finance the continued care of the UNESCO-registered AmberSide Collection, enable future exhibitions and partnerships, and guarantee continued public access to documentary photography in the North East.

About the print:

"I found these children on the Ballymun estate in the outskirts of Dublin after seeing a news story on the TV. The estate, Ireland’s first high-rise social housing scheme, was built in the 1960s. By the 1980’s the area became notorious for high unemployment, and crime. There was a wild west feeling to Ballymun. Disconnected from the rest of Dublin, with a strong sense of community. There would always be a group of kids out playing with the horses. In 1998, legislation was passed banning ownership of the horses, and the kids lost their horses. In 2004, the high rise buildings of Ballymun were abolished, making way for new two storey social housing." - Amelia Troubridge
