Edith Tudor Hart was one of the most significant documentary photographers working in Britain in 1930s until the early 1950s. For Edith photography was a medium by which she could spread her political ideas. She worked closely associated with the Communist Party and created a remarkable archive of images of working people in London and South Wales. She also brought to the foreground social needs such as housing policies and the care of disable children.
