Juchitan is a pueblo in Oaxaca, famous for its legends, myths and oral history. Juchitan is a land of women as most of the economic control, religious power and social influence is in their hands. Traditional clothes, customs and the structures of social life have all been maintained. The women are large, voluptuous and colourful. In Juchitan homosexuality is viewed as natural, even appreciated as a state where man’s strength and women’s sentiments are united.
