Fishing Industry Pack

Using historical and contemporary imagery from the north east of England this pack presents a visual and factual exploration of the fishing world. The pack can be used in many ways: as a small exhibition, a teaching resource, for framing or for general reading and enjoyment.

This pack was published jointly with North Tyneside Council as part of the publicity to re-launch the North Shields Fish Quay Festival in 1987. It was used as a small exhibition in all the local fish and chip shops and pubs. Local schools also used the packs in an amazing variety of ways encouraging children to understand the nature of the sea and to appreciate the Fish Quay as one of the most beautiful and fascinating areas in the region.

Since 1987 the Fish Quay Festival has become an annual event claiming itself to be the biggest free festival in Europe. The pack is now in its second reprint.
