Tyneside Photographer (ref 59)
Exhibition poster from Edgar G. Lee’s collection of images of Tyneside shown at Side Gallery 15 November 1986-3 January 1987. (A2 594mm x 420mm)
Edgar G. Lee lived in the late 1800s. He spent a lot of time in the streets of Newcastle, on the Quayside, at North Shields Fish Quay, and on the beaches of Tynemouth, Cullercoats and Whitley Bay documenting the life of Tyneside as he found it. Through his photographs a fascinating glimpse of the way things were nearly one hundred years ago is revealed.
