Easington August 1984 (ref 74)
Exhibition poster from Keith Pattison’s ‘Easington August 1984’ collection shown at Side Gallery the same year.
Keith Pattison secured in 1984 funding from Artists’ Agency to do a month long photographic residency in Easington a colliery village in East of Durham. Keith documented the height of Miner’s Strike when Paul Wilkinson returned to work.
The images have become iconic and the capturing of a village experiencing a police siege has influenced many visualisations of the strike.
